Another day, another cold record

On the morning of May 11, the national cold record fell in Latvia, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre. 

The previous record, set in 1941, of -5.5C fell to -6.1C in Mērsrags. Madona was also freezing with -6C; it was -5.9C in Zosēni; and -5.7C in Ainaži. 

Daytime temperatures on May 11 are higher however at +6..+11C and +7..+8C in the capital.
